Ted Dawes s’est distingué de nouveau. En combinant une approche de levée de fonds originale avec une forte dose de couragepersonnel, le membre militant de la section locale 175 des TUAC Canada a su inciter les gens à travers tout le pays à ouvrir leur portefeuille et à donner des sommes d'argent considérables pour la recherche sur la leucémie et les lymphomes.

Michoacán minister visits AWA centres

May 18, 2009 — About 2,500 agriculture workers from the central Mexican state of Michoacán come to Canada each season under the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program (SAWP. Recently, Michocan’s immigration minister travelled to Canada to find out from her compatriots first-hand about the challenges they face, and the support they are receiving through the efforts of UFCW Canada and the Agriculture Workers Alliance (AWA).

Une ministre du Michoacán visite des centres de l’ATA

Le 17 mai 2009  — Dans le cadre du Programme des travailleurs agricoles saisonniers (PTAS), quelque 2 500 travailleurs agricoles de l’état du Michoacán, au centre du Mexique, viennent au Canada chaque année pour y travailler. Récemment, la ministre de l’Immigration de l’état du Michoacán s’est rendue au Canada pour constater en personne des difficultés auxquelles sont confrontés ses compatriotes, et de l’aide qu’ils reçoivent des TUAC Canada et de l’Alliance des travailleurs agricoles (ATA).

National Callout in Support of Migrant Workers and their Families

The long awaited report and recommendations from the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration that studied the situation of migrant workers has been released on Wednesday May 6, 2009 along with two dramatically different minority reports from the Conservatives and the New Democrats.

La Journée internationale contre l’homophobie - le 17 mai

La Journée internationale contre l’homophobie (qu’on appelle parfois IDAHO en anglais), est célébrée autour du monde le 17 mai, soit dimanche prochain.

Cette journée que l’on célèbre chaque année pour marquer la lutte pour rendre notre société inclusive de toutes les sexualités fut instituée à Montréal en 2003 par le groupe des droits de la personne Fondation Émergence. Elle fut vite adoptée dans les diverses régions du Canada, et par la suite dans les autres pays du monde.
