UFCW Canada National Council Convention 2007
The UFCW Canada National Council Convention that took place in Toronto November 12 and 13 was an historic event. More than 200 local union delegates from across Canada unanimously adopted new policies and a change in bylaws to strengthen the future of the national consensus building process.
Moving forward, under the direction of UFCW Canada National President Wayne Hanley most local unions will have a seat at the national table and a relevant part in the national decision making process.
“This is a major step forward for our union that will help us keep pace with the changing face of our membership,” Hanley said. “I know the new, more diverse national leadership group will help us serve the evolving needs of our members from coast to coast.”
