Winnipeg – April 13, 2019 – UFCW Local 832 members working at General Mills Canada in Winnipeg have ratified a new union contract that provides wage increases and more vacation, among other gains.
Vaughan, Ont. – April 12, 2019 – Manufacturing workers at the Pliteq plant in Vaughan, Ontario are the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 1006A after recently voting to join the union.
New Westminster, B.C. – April 11, 2019 – The new collective agreement for UFCW Local 1518 members working in community health has come into effect.
Montreal – April 10, 2019 – Activists from UFCW Canada Locals 832 and 500 recently joined the Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW) and the UFCW Canada Human Rights, Equity, and Diversity Department to visit the CFACQ Centre in Montreal – a facility that provides training opportunities for diverse communities, including workers with disabilities.
Grimsby, Ont. – April 9, 2019 – Richard White has been a proud, long-standing member of UFCW Canada Local 175 for decades. He works at the Fearman’s Pork plant in Burlington, Ontario and became active as a union steward in 2003. Like many other UFCW members, Richard also likes to get involved in his community.
Toronto – April 8, 2019 – On April 9, UFCW Canada activists from across the country will join in observing Equal Pay Day – a day that represents how far into the next year a woman must work to earn the same amount made by a man in the previous year.
