Leamington, Ont. – June 25, 2024 – UFCW Canada recently hosted informative workshops at the UFCW Canada Agriculture Workers Support Centre in Leamington, Ontario, focusing on workplace rights and 2SLGBTQ+ rights tailored specifically for migrant workers.
Toronto – June 24, 2024 – Workers at Delmanor Retirement Home in Toronto have voted to join UFCW Locals 175 & 633, becoming the newest members of the Healthcare Office and Professional Employees (HOPE) sector at the union.
Steinbach, Man. – June 21, 2024 – UFCW 832 members at Trailblazers have voted in favour of ratifying their first collective bargaining agreement.
Boucherville, Que. – June 20, 2024 – UFCW 500 member Florence Nadeau is the latest recipient of the BDM scholarship award. Florence works at Maxi in Boucherville; she is in her second year studying Histoire et civilisation at Cégep du Vieux Montréal.
Toronto – June 19, 2024 – On June 21, Canadians are called to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, culture and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples on National Indigenous Peoples Day. On this day we celebrate the unique cultures and contributions made by Indigenous peoples on Turtle Island.
Abbotsford, B.C. – June 18, 2024 – 170 migrant agricultural workers at the four Highline Mushrooms factory farms in Abbotsford have unionized and joined United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 1518.
