Toronto – July 13, 2026 – UFCW Canada proudly celebrates the second annual UFCW National Bannock Day, inviting members, families, and communities across Turtle Island to recognize the rich cultural heritage, resilience, and traditions of Indigenous peoples through one of their most cherished foods: bannock.
Toronto – July 10, 2026 – Under the Agri-Food Pilot Program, thousands of migrant food workers, including many UFCW members, were able to obtain permanent residency in Canada. Now, with the pilot finished, migrant food workers have very few options to build a life in Canada. In addition, thousands of workers who applied are stuck in immigration limbo. UFCW Canada is demanding that the federal government provide a permanent federal pathway to allow migrant food workers to obtain permanent residency.
Surrey, B.C. – July 9, 2026 – UFCW Local 247 members working at Loblaw Superstores and Distribution Centres across BC have voted overwhelmingly in favour of accepting a new tentative agreement with their employer.
Repentigny, Que. – July 8, 2026 – UFCW Canada Local 1991-P members working at Recycan Inc. have achieved a new collective agreement that delivers improvements to wages, pensions, premiums, and more.
Woodbridge, Ont. – July 6, 2026 – UFCW Canada congratulates UFCW Local 1006A on the unveiling the Land of the Original People mural by Indigenous artist Philip Cote at their head offices in Woodbridge.
Toronto – July 3, 2026 – As the heat of summer intensifies, extreme heat is becoming even more of a deadly workplace hazard. Across all working sectors — especially agriculture, food processing, hospitality, and kitchens — workers face growing risks to their health and lives.
