Toronto – March 12, 2013 – A UFCW Canada infographic posted to Facebook on International Women's Day (IWD) struck a chord with social networkers around the world – who shared the image 6,182 times with their friends, totalling more than 550,000 views.
Toronto – March 8, 2013 – For 36 years the United Nations General Assembly has recognized International Women's Day (IWD) in order to celebrate the advancement and contributions of women, based on the premise that global peace and genuine social progress require women to be fully equal and active participants in society.

Toronto – February 28, 2013 – To commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day, marked on March 8 every year, UFCW Canada is proud to assist Local Unions, activists, friends and supporters in celebrating this important day of recognition and achievement through a new poster that is now freely available for sharing in workplaces, schools and social media networks.
Toronto – February 26, 2013 – The event was called "Girl Power", but the audience was almost equally comprised of men and women students at the recent gathering held at Toronto's Ryerson University. The seminar, sponsored by UFCW Canada Local 1000A, was organized by B-2026. This group of Ryerson students — including Kanisha Clark who is also a Local 1000A member at No Frills — wants to advance the goal that by 2026, 30% of Canada's political posts will be filled by women.
