UFCW Saskatchewan Women’s Conference a resounding success
Saskatoon, Sask. – March 15, 2014 – UFCW Canada women from across Saskatchewan gathered in Saskatoon March 8 and 9, for the 8th annual UFCW Saskatchewan Women’s Conference, hosted by the UFCW Canada Local 1400 Education Centre. Keynote speaker Cam Broten, leader of the Saskatchewan NDP, lit up the room at the Friday evening conference opening with his exuberant passion for politics and hope of a better, brighter, and more inclusive future for the people of Saskatchewan.


Toronto – March 6, 2014 – On March 8th, people around the world will celebrate International Women’s Day, which was established by the United Nations in 1975. The day arose from the struggles that women endured at the turn of the 20th century, when population growth and a change in working conditions saw many women facing long hours and receiving low pay in comparison to their male co-workers.
