Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – September 1, 2023 – UFCW activists joined hundreds of women trade union leaders from UNI affiliates across the world for the UNI Global Union’s 6th World Women’s Conference.
Toronto – April 4, 2023 – Equal Pay Day this year is April 4, 2023. Equal Pay Day is a global event to raise awareness of the gender pay gap. It marks how many months into 2023 the average woman must work to catch up to what the average man earned in 2022.
Toronto – March 8, 2023 – International Women's Day (IWD) is a time to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and girls everywhere. A time to recognize the women who inspire, and a time to renew discussions about the importance of gender equality in Canada and around the world.
Toronto – March 7, 2023 – As we approach International Women’s Day on March 8, we continue to fight against the persistent gender pay gap that persists throughout Canada.
Toronto – November 30, 2022 – It has been over 30 years since the murder of 14 young women at Polytechnique Montréal (December 6, 1989). This act of violent misogyny shook our country, and December 6 was designated as The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
