Norfolk County, Ont. – September 7, 2013 – UFCW Canada and the Agricultural Workers Alliance (AWA) recently participated in the 2013 Seasonal Agricultural Worker Health Fair in the farming community of Norfolk County, Ontario.
Calgary – September 6, 2013 – UFCW Canada Local 401 recently participated in Calgary’s most successful PRIDE parade to date. Float entrants in the parade rose to 80 from approximately 60 in 2012. And while final numbers are not yet confirmed, initial reports indicate that the event drew even more Calgarians than last year’s 30,000 attendees.
Ciudad Victoria, Mexico – August 30, 2013 – Leaders from Canada and Mexico’s leading labour unions – UFCW Canada and the National Farm workers Confederation (CNC) – have renewed their joint commitment to advancing the rights and working conditions of migrant workers.

Chicago – August 21, 2013 – The leader of Mexico's National Farm Workers' Confederation (CNC) recently led a delegation to the UFCW 7th Regular Convention in Chicago to discuss the issues of Mexican migrant workers and immigration in Canada and the United States with UFCW brothers and sisters, labour leaders and government officials — including NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair who was a keynote speaker at the convention.
Harrison Hot Springs, B.C. – August 20, 2013 – UFCW Canada’s premier youth training and education program, the Youth Internship Program (YIP), recently wrapped up its 2013 sessions with stops in all four regions of the country. As unions struggle against unprecedented attacks by governments and corporations across Canada, building youth leadership skills for young activists is more important than ever.
