Toronto – April 19, 2023 – April 22 was designated as “International Mother Earth” day by the UN General Assembly in 2009.
Toronto – April 12, 2023 – International Day of Pink happens every year on the second Wednesday of April, where people around the world wear their pink shirts and stand in solidarity with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community to continue the fight for equality and acceptance.
Toronto – March 15, 2023 – Every year, on March 21, UFCW Canada joins with global communities in recognizing the International Day for The Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
Winnipeg, Manitoba – March 1, 2023 -- Sean Champion-Taylor is a UFCW 832 member in Manitoba and works in the grocery retail sector, and UFCW Canada Equity Grant recipient. He used his equity grant to help fund Rivercity Neurocast, a unique podcast about neurodivergence in Manitoba.
Toronto – February 22, 2023 – Pink Shirt Day is an annual day of observance celebrated internationally and established by the CKNW Kids’ Fund, based out of Burnaby, British Columbia. On the last Wednesday of February, Canadians take a stand for kindness and wear pink shirts to show their support for safe and inclusive schools, workplaces and communities.
