UFCW Canada at 20th National Metropolis Conference
Calgary – April 7, 2018 – UFCW Canada activists joined over 200 academics, service providers, and government officials from across the country at the 2018 National Metropolis Conference, held in Calgary from March 22 to 24.


Toronto – April 5, 2018 – On April 10, UFCW Canada activists from across the country will join in observing Equal Pay Day – a day that represents how far into the next year a woman must work to earn the same amount made by a man in the previous year.
Toronto – March 31, 2018 – UFCW Canada and our allies in the Canadian labour movement are celebrating a series of legislative victories for survivors of domestic violence in response to a union-led campaign seeking paid leave and other supports for victims of domestic and sexual abuse.
Toronto – March 29, 2018 – April 4 is recognized across Canada as Refugee Rights Day – a day that commemorates the historic April 4, 1985 ruling by the Supreme Court of Canada that refugee claimants are fully protected under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. 
Toronto – March 19, 2018 – In 1966, the United Nations declared March 21 as the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination to commemorate the victims of the 1960 Sharpeville massacre in apartheid-era South Africa — where 69 people were killed by government forces following a peaceful protest against racial discrimination.
