Toronto – November 7, 2020 – The COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted working people of colour, and addressing the institutional racism that has led to this outcome must be at the centre of any just COVID-19 recovery.
St. Mary’s Bay, N.S. – October 24, 2020 – Mi’kmaq fishers in Nova Scotia are experiencing violence, vandalism, and harassment and are being denied gas and equipment as they attempt to carry out their treaty rights and earn a modest living.
Toronto – October 20, 2020 – The UFCW Canada Ontario Provincial Council recently made a submission to the Government of Ontario putting forward our union’s recommendations for the province’s fall 2020 budget.

The big question is whether the Liberals will actually fulfill their promises or revert to their old ways of overpromising and underdelivering.

Hamilton, Ont. – August 28, 2020 – UFCW Locals 175 & 633 and the UFCW Canada National Office recently participated in the City of Hamilton’s Task Force on Economic Recovery during COVID-19, where activists pushed for better pay and more workplace protections for frontline workers in UFCW core sectors.
