Washington, D.C. – February 13, 2025 – UFCW Canada National President Shawn Haggerty joined a delegation of Canadian and American labour leaders yesterday in Washington, D.C., to meet with the Canadian premiers to discuss the damage that U.S. tariffs will have on workers and industries on both sides of the border.
Toronto – February 7, 2025 – UFCW Canada joined with key Canadian partners at the Canada-U.S. Economic Summit urging for cross-country approach to the threat of U.S. tariffs.

Knowing the potential devastation that tariffs can bring, we call on all levels of government to act to protect Canadian jobs and Canadian workers.
Ottawa – November 29, 2024 – UFCW Canada activists joined hundreds of other workers on November 27 for the annual Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) Lobby Day. Workers met with elected officials from all parties, advocating for urgent action need to address the challenges facing Canadians today.
November 18, 2024 – The Federal Government’s Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration recently released a report on Conditions for Growth: Reconsidering Closed Work Permits in the Temporary Foreign Workers Program.
Toronto – November 4, 2024 – October was a busy month for provincial elections across the country. With elections in New Brunswick, Saskatchewan and British Columbia, UFCW members campaigned steadily for workers’ rights.
