National Council focuses on building fairness in core industries
Toronto – April 17, 2014 – The UFCW Canada National Council met in Toronto on April 15 and 16 to focus on the union’s organizing efforts in the retail food industry, and to discuss the best way to build political momentum for fairness as workers and their families face unprecedented assaults on their labour rights from governments at all levels.


Woodbridge, Ont. – April 3, 2014 – Activists from UFCW Canada Locals 1000A and 12R24 recently participated in a two-week election campaign training course at the Local 1000A office in Woodbridge, Ontario in preparation for a possible provincial election this spring.

Toronto - March 10, 2014 – For Canadian Agricultural Safety Week – March 9-15, 2014, the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) and the Canadian Federation of Agriculture (CFA) have set the theme as “Let’s Talk About It”. Yet, once again these two industry lobby groups have excluded from the conversation direct calls for legislative and regulatory safety provisions for the agriculture sector. It is a fatal and shameful exclusion in the face of the facts the industry and governments are well aware of.
