Ottawa – April 8, 2022 – During the COVID-19 pandemic, it became even more apparent that workers needed a voice in their workplace. The coronavirus has further revealed the extent of the gaps in workplace protections for workers, especially for the most vulnerable and lowest-paid.
Ottawa – March 30, 2022 – Canadian politics, much like the politics of our southern neighbours, has come to resemble a hyper-partisan martial arts cage match, rather than an honest attempt to improve the lives of Canadians.
Ottawa – March 23, 2022 – UFCW Canada commends the federal New Democratic Party (NDP) and the Government of Canada for working together on a historic Supply and Confidence Agreement that makes significant progress on issues important to working Canadians and their families.
Toronto – March 17, 2022 – Doug Ford’s Conservative government is great at coming up with nice-sounding names for new bills, but in most cases the names are the only good things about these bills.
Ottawa – March 7, 2022 – The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed many holes in Ontario’s public services, especially when it comes to health care, child care, long-term care, and education. Indeed, the pandemic has brought to bear these and other growing inequalities.
Ottawa – February 14, 2022 – As the anti-vaccine convoy rolled into Ottawa, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was released by Canadian Unity, one of the lead groups organizing the convoy, demanding the removal of the prime minister from office. But the only political leader to lose his job was former Conservative leader Erin O’Toole.
