Victoria, B.C. – October 11, 2017 – UFCW Canada Local 1518 President Ivan Limpright has been appointed as the labour force representative for British Columbia’s newly-established Fair Wages Commission, which is tasked with putting forward a plan to raise the province’s minimum wage to $15 an hour.
Toronto – October 5, 2017 – Each year on October 7, the World Day for Decent Work joins workers and organizations around the world in a call for equity, fairness, and opportunity that comes through decent work.
Calgary – September 22, 2017 – Earlier this year, Alberta’s former Wildrose and Progressive Conservative parties voted to join forces and form the United Conservative Party (UCP) in order to liberate Alberta from the NDP government they claim Alberta voters accidently elected.
