Tax havens and loopholes hurt us all
Toronto – November 25, 2017 – The Trudeau government’s claim of working for the middle class has taken a hit over the last few weeks due to the release of the Paradise Papers – a leak of over 13 million files from two offshore service providers and 19 tax havens’ company registries.

Montreal – November 10, 2017 – UFCW Canada Local 500 activist Rosannie Filato has been elected as the new city councillor for the Montreal borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc Extension after defeating incumbent councillor Elsie Lefebvre in the city’s municipal election, held on November 5.
Regina, Sask. – November 6, 2017 – On the opening day of the fall sitting for the Saskatchewan legislature, UFCW Canada activists joined hundreds of allies at a rally in opposition to Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall’s provincial budget and austerity measures.
Saskatoon, Sask. – October 28, 2017 – With the leadership race for Saskatchewan’s New Democratic Party (NDP) now underway, UFCW Canada Local 1400 – the largest private sector union in the province – and the UFCW Saskatchewan Provincial Council recently endorsed Ryan Meili for leader of the party.
