Ford government continues to deny equal rights to farm workers in Ontario
Toronto – August 23, 2023 – UFCW Canada is demanding the Ford government take action in response to an Ontario farm owner retaliating against migrant workers who were speaking out about unacceptable housing conditions.




Toronto – June 29, 2023 – UFCW Canada welcomes the ruling by Justice Michael MacArthur in the human trafficking trial in London, Ontario. It took more than five years of investigations and a trial to bring justice to a group of migrant agricultural workers who were trafficked and exploited in Southern Ontario.
Geneva – June 20, 2023 – IUF Congress 2023 closed out its plenary session adopting various resolutions that aim to tackle the climate crisis, advance sustainable agri-food policy, fight the rise of fascism and restore the right to unionize.
Geneva – June 14, 2023 – An IUF group of experts, which included UFCW Canada, worked to achieve policy guidelines, for the first time, to promote the UN’s Decent Work Agenda for the agri-food sector.
Toronto — May 19, 2023 — The Government of Canada has announced that they are expanding the Agri-Food Pilot, which will now run until May 14, 2025.
