On this day we celebrate the unique cultures and contributions made by Indigenous peoples on Turtle Island.

Ottawa – October 11, 2023 – The UFCW Canada Indigenous Sub-Committee recently gathered in Ottawa to participate in the Canadian Labour Congress’ (CLC) Indigenous Lobby Day.
Ottawa – December 9, 2021 – UFCW Canada and Indigenous Sub-committee members are commending the announcement made this week that the federal government will be turning over thousands of residential school files to the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR) based in Winnipeg.
Toronto – November 9, 2021 – UFCW Canada Local Unions in Ontario recently won a historic arbitration after taking Loblaw to task for violating the terms of its collective agreement upon failing to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as a paid holiday.
Toronto – August 4, 2021 – On August 9, we recognize the resilience of Indigenous communities across the world and encourage everyone to learn the importance of fully implementing the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).
