New “Organizing for Women Activists” course builds strength and fairness in core industries
Toronto – November 24, 2013 – As Canada’s leading and most progressive union, UFCW Canada recently launched a new course dedicated to building equality, fairness and workplace standards in the union’s core industries.


Ottawa – November 23, 2013 – After 3 years of lobbying and campaigning by UFCW Canada and the Canadian labour movement, provincial and territorial governments are coming to the conclusion that expanding the CPP is the most efficient, effective and affordable plan to ensuring Canadians retirement security.
Toronto – November 20, 2013 – UFCW Canada members joined activists from around the globe today to participate in numerous actions to expose Walmart’s bad labour practices, which impact more than two million workers in the global retail industry and at every level of the supply chain.
Ottawa – November 6, 2013 – The Harper government has now proposed to substantially weaken the health and safety protections for workers employed in federally regulated industries and workplaces. The proposals are a matter of life and death and would leave federal workers faced with employer reprisal for refusing to do dangerous work.
Montreal – November 2, 2013 –
Vancouver – November 4, 2013 – UFCW Canada Local 247 and Local 1518 activists and their family members recently joined more than 2,500 other participants for the 9th Annual Vancouver Light the Night Walk. The fundraising event was in support of the lifesaving research efforts of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC).
