UFCW Canada Migrant Workers Scholarships recipients announced
Toronto – September 12, 2014 – The latest recipients of the UFCW Canada Migrant Workers Scholarships have been announced. The recipients are a diverse group of young people from the Global South, ranging in age from 4 to 24 — attending school in Philippines, Guatemala, Jamaica, Kenya, and Mexico.


Saint-Rémi, Que. – September 5, 2014 – Celebration was in the air at the community gathering and barbecue held to mark the tenth anniversary of the Agricultural Workers Alliance (AWA) Support Centre in Saint-Rémi, Quebec.
Abbotsford, B.C. – September 1, 2014 – UFCW Canada, the Agriculture Workers Alliance (AWA), and a number of community allies recently hosted a Seasonal Agricultural Worker Health Fair in the agriculture community of Abbotsford, British Columbia.
Mexico City – August 25, 2014 – UFCW Canada recently attended the 152nd Extraordinary Period of Sessions of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), held in Mexico City, Mexico from August 11 to 15.
Virgil, Ont. – August 14, 2014 – Hundreds of migrant agriculture workers and allies gathered for the 10th Anniversary of the Agriculture Workers Alliance (AWA) Virgil Support Centre.
Vancouver – August 13, 2014 – UFCW Canada filed a human rights complaint before the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal today, denouncing B.C. employers who use discriminatory mechanisms that allow them to avoid hiring women under the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program (SAWP).
