August 9, International Day of The World’s Indigenous Peoples
Ottawa – August 3, 2018 – There are approximately 370 million Indigenous people living across the globe in 90 countries, speaking over 7,000 languages and representing over 5,000 cultures.




Toronto – June 5, 2018 – In Canada, the National Day of Reconciliation is observed each year on June 11 to serve as a reminder of the 150,000 Indigenous children who were forcibly taken from their homes and placed in the residential school system from the 1870s to the mid-1990s.
Toronto – May 28, 2018 – Annually, we honour June as National Indigenous History Month.
Toronto – May 3, 2018 – This May 10, UFCW Canada activists will be joining with our national partner, the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada (FNCFCS), to participate in Bear Witness Day in support of equity for First Nations children.
