National Indigenous Peoples Day – June 21
Canadians are called to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, culture and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples on National Indigenous Peoples Day – June 21. On this day we celebrate the unique cultures and contributions made by Indigenous peoples on Turtle Island.


Toronto – June 17, 2019 – From June 11 to 12, UFCW Canada leaders, Indigenous members, and allies came together in Toronto for the UFCW Canada National Indigenous Peoples Conference, where participants engaged in two days of education and celebration of the upcoming National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21.
New Westminster, B.C. – June 7, 2019 – On May 31, UFCW Canada Local 1518 celebrated the inauguration of “Salmon Arrows,” a newly installed mural at the union’s headquarters in New Westminster, British Columbia.
Toronto – June 4, 2019 – The need to act to end violence against Indigenous women and girls is urgent and, tragically, this has been the case for generations.
Toronto – May 31, 2019 – June is National Indigenous History Month. Throughout the month, we honour Indigenous culture, traditions, and contributions in society.
