St. Mary’s Bay, N.S. – October 24, 2020 – Mi’kmaq fishers in Nova Scotia are experiencing violence, vandalism, and harassment and are being denied gas and equipment as they attempt to carry out their treaty rights and earn a modest living.


Toronto – August 31, 2020 – Activists from UFCW Canada’s Indigenous Sub-Committee recently gathered in fellowship and friendship through a virtual meeting with Traditional Indigenous Elder Dr. Duke Redbird, as part of the Myseum of Toronto’s “Ask an Elder” series.
On December 1994, the United Nations General Assembly declared August 9 as the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples.
