The 120-hour Media and Communications Specialist Certificate program trains students in multimedia, web design, and communication skills that can open doors to various roles in marketing and professional communications within the union, businesses, and non-profit organizations.

Toronto - August 23, 2013 - UFCW activists joined hundreds of other labour allies, friends, everyday Torontonians, and family members of the late Jack Layton for the unveiling of a statue which honours the memory of one of the most admired, loved and inspiring leaders in Canadian history. The former NDP Leader, an avid cyclist in life, is joyfully memorialized in a life-size bronze likeness of Brother Layton on the back seat of a bicycle-built-for-two; the front seat ready and waiting for friends, visitors, and admirers to take a ride in solidarity.

Toronto - August 21, 2013 - UFCW Canada activists from across the Toronto area joined workers on the picket line at Wing's Food Products on Wednesday, to support UFCW Canada Local 175 members who have been on strike since August 13. More than 140 members work at the Toronto food processor. Earlier this month, the bargaining unit voted overwhelmingly to take strike action, after it became clear to the Union’s negotiating committee that after five days of negotiations and two in mediation, no reasonable progress was being made with the employer.
Chicago – August 21, 2013 – The leader of Mexico's National Farm Workers' Confederation (CNC) recently led a delegation to the UFCW 7th Regular Convention in Chicago to discuss the issues of Mexican migrant workers and immigration in Canada and the United States with UFCW brothers and sisters, labour leaders and government officials — including NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair who was a keynote speaker at the convention.
