After six long and painful years, the family of Kevan Chandler – an Alberta worker who was killed in a grain elevator accident on Father's Day in 2006 – has received compensation for his death.
According to a recent Statistics Canada release, the consumer prices rose slightly in the 12 month to September and remained unchanged from August at 1.2%. Activists from UFCW Canada Local 832 joined other members of the Winnipeg community to kick off the 2012 United Way campaign by pulling a plane. The plane pull has become an annual tradition in Winnipeg, with this year’s event representing the 9th time Winnipeggers have gathered at the airport to flex their muscles for a worthy cause.
