Cambridge, Ont. – April 2, 2013 – Long-time UFCW Canada activist and friend Connie Maile passed away peacefully on March 28 in the company of loved ones at the Grand River Hospital in Cambridge, Ontario.
Montreal – April 2, 2013 – UFCW Canada Local 500 is leading a tour throughout Quebec to engage union members, grocery store workers and community members about the critical importance of supporting local businesses that respect labour rights and build good jobs in the retail food sector.
Edmonton – March 31, 2013 – Registration for the 2013 CALM Conference is now open. This year’s CALM conference will be held in Edmonton, Alberta from May 23 to May 25, when participants will have the opportunity to focus on the best ways to communicate the importance of fairness, good jobs, and the sustainability of communities.
