Sudbury, Ont. – November 18, 2015 – UFCW Canada Local 175 members working at the Rona Cashway store in Sudbury, Ontario have ratified a new agreement, bringing an end to a five-day lockout by their employer.
Edmonton – November 18, 2015 – The exclusion of Alberta agriculture workers from basic workplace rights is coming to an end, thanks to new legislation introduced by the Notley NDP government. Bill 6: The Enhanced Protection for Farm and Ranch Workers Act was tabled in the Alberta Legislature on Tuesday.
Armstrong, B.C. – November 17, 2015 – UFCW Canada Local 1518 members working at the Rogers Foods mill in Armstrong, British Columbia have overwhelmingly ratified a new contract.
Toronto – November 19, 2015 – UFCW Canada activists were recently on hand for the launch of Ontario's Gender Wage Gap Steering Committee, which is setting out on a province-wide consultation on how to eliminate wage inequity for women in the Ontario workforce.
