UFCW Canada denounces Bill 8, demands Quebec government stop discriminating against the most vulnerable
Toronto – October 24, 2014 – UFCW Canada expresses shock and dismay with Quebec’s Liberal government for ramming through legislation that has the potential to strip many agriculture workers of their basic human rights.


Montreal – October 27, 2014 – The Quebec Labour Relations Board (Commission des relations du travail) has certified members working at Châtel Automobiles Ltée (Mercedes-Benz Québec) as a new UFCW Canada Local 501 bargaining unit, in a decision delivered on October 10.
Toronto – October 27, 2014 – On the same evening in three different provinces, UFCW Canada activists, friends and family raised a combined total of more than $200,000 for blood cancer research and awareness. On October 18, members of UFCW Canada in Halifax, Montreal and Vancouver joined with thousands of walkers for annual Light the Night fundraising events.
