The Art of Solidarity: UFCW OUTreach holds first-ever educational conference
Philadelphia, Penn. – October 6, 2025 – UFCW union activists from across the United States and Canada gathered in Philadelphia from October 2-5 to participate in UFCW OUTreach’s first-ever education conference; UFCW OUTreach is the union’s constituency group dedicated to advocating for the union’s 2SLGBTQ+ members and allies. .
IGA supermarkets in Rimouski join UFCW 500
Rimouski (Quebec) – October 6, 2025 — The two IGA supermarkets in the city of Rimouski, Alimentation Coop Rimouski on Jessop Boulevard and IGA Extra Rimouski on Sirois Avenue, changed union allegiance to join UFCW 500 on September 11.

Honouring National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – September 30
Toronto – September 30, 2025 – On September 30, UFCW Canada joins people across the country in observing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honours the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and the thousands of Indigenous children who never made it home. It is also a time to reflect on the intergenerational trauma caused by colonial policies and to commit ourselves to the ongoing work of reconciliation.
Retirement home workers join union – UFCW 175
Waterloo, Ont. – September 25, 2025 – UFCW 175 welcomes the 25 new members who work full-time at Waterloo Heights Senior Apartments who recently voted to join the union.
