Toronto – June 26, 2014 – Pride Week is finally here. UFCW Canada has worked hard towards a tremendous show of solidarity and celebration, and would like to share our plans about the various activities that our union will be participating in throughout the week — culminating in what is expected to be the largest Pride Parade ever held in North America.
Toronto – June 26, 2014 – Over 2,000 UFCW Canada Local 206 members working at Swiss Chalet restaurants across Ontario recently ratified a new province-wide collective bargaining agreement. The Swiss Chalet employees work as hosts, servers, cooks, and dishwashers at one of the most popular restaurant chains in the country.
Saint-Paul-de-Joliette, Que. – June 24, 2014 – Following a lengthy conciliation process, UFCW Canada Local 1991P members working at the Patrick Morin distribution centre in Saint-Paul-de-Joliette, Quebec have ratified the agreement-in-principle reached between the company and union in late May 2014.
Barrie, Ont. – June 25, 2014 – UFCW Canada youth activists from across Ontario recently brought their energy and enthusiasm to the second session of this year's Youth Internship Program (YIP) in Barrie, Ontario. Now in its fourteenth year, YIP is UFCW Canada's renowned program for developing and empowering young member-activists within their union and their communities.
