International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination – March 21, 2014
Toronto – March 19, 2014 – The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is celebrated annually on March 21 to commemorate the victims of the 1960 Sharpeville massacre in South Africa and to denounce racism globally.


Quebec City, Que. – March 18, 2014 – UFCW Canada Local 509 is pleased to welcome 80 new members working at Sélection du Pâtissier Inc. An application for certification was filed by the Local 509 on January 12, 2014 seeking representation of the workers at this bakery operation. The bagaining unit has now been certified by the Quebec Labour Relations Commission.

This unique learning opportunity is the result of a partnership between UFCW Canada and Mohawk College in Hamilton.
