Toronto – February 11, 2014 – At a time when young Canadians are struggling to find good paying jobs, more seniors are living in poverty, and while high unemployment persists, especially for First Nations, Harper’s Conservatives introduced a budget more concerned with the continued gutting of services in order to squeeze enough money out of the system to introduce a new round of tax cuts to bolster their re-election campaign in 2015.

Toronto – February 13, 2014 – Every year citizens in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Saskatchewan celebrate Family Day by spending much-needed time with friends and loved ones. Many UFCW Canada members use the day to participate in activities aimed at the whole family, and a number of communities plan special public events to mark the statutory holiday.
Mississauga, Ont. – February 10, 2014 – Workers at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Mississauga – located near Toronto Pearson International Airport – are the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 206 following a winning unionization campaign in late January.
