December 6 — the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
Toronto – December 2, 2013 – Each year on December 6 — the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women — we commemorate the loss of the 14 women who were murdered on December 6, 1989 at Montreal's École Polytechnique simply because they were women.



Ottawa – December 1, 2013 – December 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. The United Nations defines violence against women as: “Any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life."
Toronto – November 29, 2013 – UFCW Canada activists from across Ontario came out in force for the 12th Biennial OFL convention, involving more than 1,000 delegates and leaders representing a million plus union members throughout the province.
