Toronto – November 20, 2013 – UFCW Canada members joined activists from around the globe today to participate in numerous actions to expose Walmart’s bad labour practices, which impact more than two million workers in the global retail industry and at every level of the supply chain.
Toronto – November 18, 2013 – Following the intense devastation inflicted on the Philippines by "super" typhoon Haiyan in early November, UFCW Canada is taking action to support urgent relief efforts in the typhoon-ravaged country.
Ottawa – November 19, 2013 – Thanks to the courageous efforts of UFCW Canada Local 401, Canadian workers are celebrating a major victory for collective bargaining rights, and freedom of speech.
Washington D.C. – November 20, 2013 – The prestigious “Local of the Year” award was recently presented to UFCW Canada Local 175 at the 15th annual UFCW International Minority Coalition Labor & Community Relations Ball. Each year the Minority Coalition recognizes a Local union for developing a unified voice, promoting diversity and furthering social justice issues within the labour movement.
