Toronto – April 5, 2013 – Communities across Ontario are calling on Premier Kathleen Wynne to designate Tuesday, April 9 as Equal Pay Day, as a first step to closing the 28 percent gender pay gap that still exists in the province.
Toronto – April 8, 2013 – This year Canada's best union, UFCW Canada, and its local and regional affiliates are once again leading the way in promoting member education by offering more than $335,000 in union scholarships and education assistance funding to eligible members and their families.
Toronto – April 5, 2013 – Fast food workers in New York City need your help. They are making a brave stand for the right to join a union and for fairness by walking off the job to protest the growing inequality between their pay and the profits of their super-rich employers – like McDonalds, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut – who cash-in and hoard the profits of a $200-billion industry.
