Labour Day is one of our proudest and longest-running traditions. For over 120 years, workers have come together during the final days of summer to celebrate our monumental achievements and to demonstrate our solidarity by gathering at parades, picnics and other fun-filled activities.
As part of the heartfelt affection Canadians are showing for recently passed NDP Leader Jack Layton, UFCW Canada is calling on all activists, friends and supporters to create something that memorializes Jack’s life and his remarkable commitment to creating a better, fairer Canada.
On August 17, Omar Graham tragically became the sixth Jamaican migrant worker over the past decade to die from an Ontario farm-related accident.
Graham, a native of Manchester, Jamaica, was fatally injured while working for an agriculture operation near Paris, Ontario.
This September 8 join UFCW Canada in acknowledging International Literacy Day by sharing a new poster that draws attention to the many literacy challenges that impact millions of adults around the globe every day.
