We are saddened and horrified by the tragedy that has struck our neighbours in Japan. To all who have lost loved ones, including members UFCW members who have lost friends or family, we extend our thoughts, prayers and condolences.

UFCW Canada Local 175 members are on strike against their employer National Car Rental, a subsidiary of Enterprise Rent-A-Car which is owned by the privately owned multi-million dollar company Crawford Group Inc.
It has been more than fifty years since the most unspeakable racist incidents occurred in South Africa, shocking the whole world and prompting the United Nations to declare March 21, as a commemorative date to observe the International Day for the elimination of racial discrimination. This incident screamed the word "racism" as a gigantic billboard to challenge humanity with the consequences of intolerance.
UFCW Canada national representative Devin Yeager is one of 15 Albertans who will sit on a new panel established by the Ed Stelmach government to look at ways to improve the safety of the province’s agriculture industry, which produced 22 deaths in 2010 – up from 13 the year before.
