Industry Snapshot: Grocery Prices increased almost 10 percent in 2022
Toronto – January 17, 2023 – New numbers released by the federal government show that in 2022 grocery prices rose at the fastest pace since 1981.
Equity Grant Recipient: McMaster Hope
Hamilton, Ont. – January 18, 2023 – Bianca Mammarella is a UFCW 175 Union member employed in the grocery retail sector. She’s also a 2022 UFCW Canada equity grant recipient for McMaster Hope, a university-campus led initiative in Ontario which provides supports for prospective students facing adversity, along with addressing social justice barriers within the Hamilton region.
First Contract ratified by Trans-Northern Pipelines Inc – UFCW 175 & 633
Richmond Hill, Ont. – January 12, 2022 – UFCW 175 & 633 members at Trans-Northern Pipelines Inc. in Richmond Hill ratified their first collective agreement in December and will see significant wage and language improvements.
