Brampton, Ont. – February 10, 2022 – Workers at Kintetsu World Express are the newest members to join UFCW 1006A after a successful organizing campaign which will see over 50 workers from the Brampton, Ontario distribution centre join the union.
Windsor, Ont. – February 16, 2022 – UFCW Canada is saddened to learn of the passing of long-time union leader Willard “Bill” Hanley. Brother Hanley passed on February 15, 2022, in his hometown of Windsor, Ontario, just two-weeks shy of his 91st birthday.
Smithers, B.C. – February 15, 2022 – UFCW 1518 members at Bulkley Valley Wholesale recently agreed on a new contract that will provide lump sum payments, wage increases, and improved vacation entitlements, including vacation pay at time of leave for part-timers.
Toronto – February 11, 2022 – Did you know that the leather for every NFL football, including the ones that will be used in this Sunday’s Super Bowl, is crafted in Chicago by UFCW members working at the Horween Leather Company?
Ottawa – February 14, 2022 – As the anti-vaccine convoy rolled into Ottawa, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was released by Canadian Unity, one of the lead groups organizing the convoy, demanding the removal of the prime minister from office. But the only political leader to lose his job was former Conservative leader Erin O’Toole.
