Toronto – January 7, 2019 – Once again, Canadian executives are laughing to the bank: shortly after 11 a.m. on January 2, the average top-earning CEO in Canada made what the typical Canadian worker earns in an entire year.
Port McNeil, B.C. – January 5, 2019 – UFCW Canada Local 1518 members working at IGA in Port McNeil, British Columbia have ratified a new collective agreement by a strong majority. The deal comes after a long, uphill battle, including three rounds of mediation at the B.C. Labour Relations Board.
Winnipeg – January 4, 2019 – Hospitality workers at two Stella’s cafes in Winnipeg, Manitoba are the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 832 after recently voting to join the union. Stella’s is a local chain of cafes that serves baked breads, soups, jams, and sandwiches for dine-in or take-away.
