Halifax – October 29, 2018 – Activists from the UFCW Canada Eastern Provinces Council (EPC) recently joined thousands of participants from across the Maritimes at the annual Light the Night walk in Halifax to help raise funds and awareness for the life-changing work of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC).
Abbotsford, B.C. and Saint-Rémi, Que. – October 27, 2018 – Agricultural workers recently met with senior government officials in Abbotsford, British Columbia and Saint-Rémi, Quebec to share their experiences with the Temporary Foreign Workers Program (TFWP), and to offer advice as frontline workers for addressing problems with the program, particularly issues surrounding health and safety, housing, harassment, and a lack of basic rights on the job.
Kitchener and Cambridge, Ont. – October 26, 2018 – UFCW Canada Local 175 members working at Paramed Home Health Care have achieved their first collective agreement.
