Lavaltrie, Que. – June 2, 2014 – Workers at the Patrick Morin hardware store in Lavaltrie, Quebec are the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 500 after voting to join the union late last month.

The hardware store employees follow in the footsteps of their brothers and sisters at the Patrick Morin distribution center in Joliette, Quebec, who joined UFCW Canada Local 1991P in March 2013.

"UFCW Local 500 is excited to welcome the Patrick Morin workers in the Lanaudière region to our great union," says UFCW Local 500 President Antonio Filato.

"By joining Canada's leading food and retail union, these new members are leading the way for other employees at Patrick Morin who are seeking better working conditions and a strong voice at the bargaining table," Brother Filato adds.
