Montreal – May 1, 2014 – Andréanne Morin is one of eighteen UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winners for 2013. Sister Morin is currently enrolled in the Special Education Program at Cégep de Granby, a general and professional training college in Granby, Quebec. She is the daughter of Jean-François Morin, a proud Local 1991P member and union steward who works at Olymel in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec.
"I’m now halfway into my Diploma of College Studies and currently completing an internship at a day care centre, and I really enjoy what I'm doing," says Andréanne. "If it weren’t for the UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship, I wouldn’t be able to keep studying in the field that I truly love, so I'm very grateful to be a recipient," she adds.
Andréanne was recently presented with the $1,000 union scholarship cheque by UFCW Canada Local 1991P President Mario Maisonneuve, who is pictured here with Sister Morin, her father, and the chief steward at the Saint-Hyacinthe Olymel, Réal Ménard.
Every year UFCW Canada offers a total of eighteen union scholarships worth $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependants for post-secondary education.
