Montreal – February 26, 2014 – UFCW Canada Local 501 (TUAC 501) is pleased to announce that customer service employees at UI Contact in Laval, Quebec have voted to join the union following a winning unionization campaign last month.

The Local Union submitted an application for certification as the workers' official bargaining agent on January 10 and the certification was approved by Quebec’s labour relations board, the Commission des relations du travail, in late January.

In joining Canada's leading retail union, the 85 customer service employees follow in the footsteps of their co-workers in the technical support department, who are also members of UFCW Canada Local 501.
