New contract for UFCW 509 food processing members at Fromagerie Albert Perron Inc.

Quebec City – November 5, 2013 – Food processing workers recently won a new union contract at the Fromagerie Albert Perron inc. cheese factory in Quebec City. The new three-year collective agreement between the employer and UFCW Canada Local 509 will be in force until June 18, 2016.

The new agreement includes an average of 3% increases for employees at the top end of the wage scales. The new contract also provides an enhanced premium for all employees on call.

“This new contract includes important gains for the 90 Local 509 members at Fromagerie Albert Perron, plus it maintains decent working conditions and ensures more stability with the employer,” says Local 509 President Daniel Nadeau.
