$55,600 raised by UFCW 832 at Light the Night WinnipegWinnipeg – October 15, 2013 – UFCW Canada Local 832 recently raised more than $55,600 for leukemia research at a Light the Night event in Winnipeg.

“UFCW Local 832 was proud to raise $55,600 the Light the Night Walk at the Forks,” said @UFCW832 in a recent tweet. “Thank you to all those who helped sponsor the night and who took part in raising money and walking.”

Approximately 500 people came together at the downtown location to participate in the event, which raised more than $130,000 to help end blood cancers.

A fundraising campaign to support the mission of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC), Light the Night aims to raise awareness to cure blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Light The Night is expected to raise more than $5 million across Canada in 2013.
