New "Remember the Dead, Fight for the Living!" sticker now available
Toronto – June 1, 2013 – A new UFCW Canada sticker is now available to all UFCW Canada activists and members to raise awareness of workplace injuries and deaths among co-workers and the public. Developed by the UFCW Canada National Council Workplace Rights Committee, the "Remember the Dead, Fight for the Living!" sticker is freely available in both English and French to support activists and their coworkers in:
- Understanding that Canadian workers are still being injured and killed on the job.
- Honouring the many victims of workplace injuries and deaths.
- Ensuring that we are constantly aware of potential and existing dangers at work so that we can focus on prevention.
"UFCW Canada continues to lead initiatives to stop workplace injuries and deaths. As Canada’s leading voice for workers, we are fully committed to protecting the lives of UFCW Canada members and raising health and safety standards for all workers to prevent needless tragedies from occurring," says UFCW Canada National President Wayne Hanley. "Members and activists can proudly wear this sticker to raise awareness of workplace injuries and deaths, and our hope is that it will serve as a constant reminder to put health and safety first," Brother Hanley adds.
