Manufacturing workers at ASI Group join the union – UFCW 175 & 633
Mississauga, Ont. – August 29, 2024 – Workers at ASI Group are celebrating an organizing victory after voting in favour of joining UFCW 175.
“Like many frustrated workers out there the new members at ASI Group wanted to do something to make positive change at work,” says UFCW 175 President Kelly Tosato. “Joining a union is an important first step to creating that kind of change and with the backing of their local union these members will be able to do just that.”
The new bargaining unit consists of nearly 20 workers who are employed as machine operators and general labourers for the company that manufacturers school related items such as washroom accessories, visual display items, lockers and other storage products.
Workers organized to build a more secure and safe workplace and are eager to begin the collective bargaining process.
