New contract for Red Lobster workers – UFCW 401
Edmonton – April 5, 2024 – UFCW 401 members working at Red Lobster have ratified a new contract after taking the company to mediation for a fair deal.
The company wanted to increase the tip payout from the Front of the House staff for a pay increase for the Back of House staff. UFCW Local 401 held the company accountable in mediation to do the right thing: leave the tip payout at 2% and give Back of House a fair wage increase.
The new contract includes the following improvements:
- Up to $2 wage increases for Back of House staff
- More paid time off for bereavement leave
- Provision of work availability for every quarter of the year, giving fair opportunities to pick up available shifts
