Winnipeg – February 1, 2024 – This week, Bea Bruske, CLC President and former UFCW 832 Secretary-Treasurer Bea Bruske, was awarded a well-deserved lifetime membership to UFCW.
Recognizing Bea's outstanding dedication to UFCW members, the UFCW 832 executive board proposed to the International Office that she be honoured with this distinction. Bea's lifelong commitment to serving the members of UFCW has earned her the privilege of a lifetime membership.
"When I signed my membership card as a 16 year old, working at the corner grocery store, I would never have imagined the impact that this union and this local would have on me. I was lucky that my journey started as a teenager, with amazing mentors that I still think about very often,” says Bea. “Long nights spent on bargaining committees with activists much older and wiser than me, patiently sharing their insights and knowledge and their life experiences had a major impact on me. It shaped my decision to want to work fighting for workers. I am profoundly grateful that I get to say that I am a member for life!"
Congratulations to Bea on this remarkable achievement!
